The Wrap Up

Well the wonderful and long anticipated day has come, and gone... a while ago. But life has been crazy and I needed to get the photos back. So here is my last post on this and I want to say thank you to everyone who came to our day, and also to all of those who were with us in spirit. It meant so much and I can't help but keep smiling every time I think back on it. Even the weather was with us since it was raining in the morning, but held off the the ceremony, and until the pictures were done.

To say the day was magical sounds cliché but in my mind it was.

The Flower Girls' Dresses turned out adorable.
The cupcake cake was a big hit, multiple flavours  was great!

The guess favours of chocolates and the donation to the tsunami victims was touching.
Making our own bouquets was a great way to stay on budget and looked awesome.

Making my own veil fell through because it wasn't the right shade of white, but I was happy to have my bought veil.

Our location at my sisters was perfect, and I couldn't have found a better spot!
The paper cranes were beautiful! I loved all the colours and the reminder of Japan.
The name cards were a big hit, and I was glad I spent FOREVER to make them.
The tent was great to avoid the little bit of rain, and the Christmas lights made an amazing atmosphere.

All of these phots were taken by Heather Deitz Photography (except for the last photo) and we are supremely happy with the images. In fact she loved one of them so much it is now the image on her web page to go to her blog!

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the best summery of how things actually turned out. I hope this helps anyone who's thinking of their own wedding. Best of luck to anyone taking on the endeavor that is planning a wedding, and thank you to all who helped make our the best day ever.

5 days and Counting!

Well it's 5 days, or at least it can be. Do you count 'the day' as one of the days? And are you including the end of this day, since it's 11pm? Whichever method you use the time is fast approaching and we are starting to get things really in motion.

Mike's family has arrived at a rental house and all this week is busy busy with flowerbed weeding, grass cutting, decoration stringing, chocolate wrapping, and many other little tasks. It'll be good, but busy with cars going in different directions.

Add on top of that my dress fittings, which I'm a little worried about. My tailor is very busy, especially last week, with other weddings. So this week I will need at least 2 fittings, plus 3 of the bridesmaid dresses are in there as well. Fingers crossed she doesnt' get sick or something disastrous!

Littler things are getting done, and people are busy organizing and writing things down. I hope that no one gets their wires crossed, or anything gets missed.

SO here's hoping for a smooth week!

Proper Footwear

Just a quick reminder to everyone, this is an outdoor wedding. So we have a tent for dinner, and a dance floor to 'cut a rug' on, but remember that you will be walking on grass. From the car park area, to the ceremony, and then inside the tent. Everywhere but the dance floor is either grass, gravel, or a pine-needle covered forest floor.

So feel free to wear heels and things, just make sure they are outdoor approved. Please no stilettos, that will cause you to either sink and/or twist and ankle.

I'd hate to have a mishap that day!

Sneak Peek: Flower Girls

Here is a sneak peek of the flower girl dresses. It is nearly complete, just need to do the obi. But the girls LOVE them and keep twirling in them, so I'm thrilled about that.

The other one is lighter purple, but the same style. But the girls also love their special shoes with dragonflies, so all of it is adorable on them.

Tell me that's not cute lol.

The toughest part is getting them to take it off after we do a fitting! They want to keep 'dancing' in their 'special dresses and shoes'.

Last Day!

Well all things here have been running smoothly (if crazy busy and intense). So as things are coming together I realized this;

Oh My Goodness! It's August 2nd!!!

Know what that means? Two things actually.
1) Our wedding is one month away! (I could the night before with the rehearsal dinner, otherwise it's one month and one day).
2) TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO BOOK!

#2 is referring to the hotel rooms. After today I will no longer have the rooms block booked, and thus you are no longer guaranteed a room and you no longer get the group discount. However there are two other weddings that had block bookings for the same time, so hopefully all the unused rooms from all three bookings are now free and available. So if you haven't booked there should still be room but it's not guaranteed.
#2 is also referring to my RSVP date. I need to know numbers to confirm tables, chairs, napkins, ect, and the catering for the big day. So PLEASE let me know ASAP (like as in the next hours) about if you are coming. Or even if you thinkyou are or you think you are NOT coming. I need to know!

Thanks so much! I want you all to be there and I want to make it easy for you!

Hope to see as many of you as I can!
