Ok so up to this point I have been dealing rather well (in my own humble opinion of my sanity) with the fact that I am in South-ish Japan and our wedding will be in Mid-Eastern Canada. This ridiculously massive distant of course makes for some interesting coordination issues, what with the 12-13 hour time difference (depending on daylight savings) and the physical distance for moving things. However with some early morning, or more often, late night skypes and everyone being super accommodating with digital pictures and photographs we have managed thus far. More than once I have sent things home via the Japan and Canadian post system with no issues or complaints.
So earlier this week I sent a package home knowing that Canada Post was on a rotating strike. That's ok, this package isn't needed until August, it isnt' a problem if it takes a couple extra days at a closed office. The day that I sent this package is the day that I find out that all the post offices have been Locked Out! I nearly flipped!
So I have a package in limbo now. Great!
Plus Mike and I are mailing things home, like winter clothes and things, and we were ok to send them via ship which can take like 2 months anyway. But if the lock out continues (since there is no sight in end) I don't want to be spending money on new clothes if I've already sent money to ship things and they are also in limbo. On the flip side I don't want to leave all these clothes behind and HAVE to buy new clothes. AND I don't want to pay the increased cost to use the private courier or the EXCEEDINGLY increased cost to have an extra bag on a flight.
So all this being said, Canada post please stop striking. I want to keep my sanity and most of my money (I was and still am willing to give you some of it though).
Thank you!
