WANTED: Wedding Ideas, Sites, Ect.
This bride is currently searching for any and all suggestions for wedding planning. A good online site would be wonderful, but other suggestion would be great too.
Got any helpful hints or ideas, we'd love them! Things that normally get forgotten, important points not to forget, or budget saving pointers are all wonderful.
Honestly just throw ideas our way and we will gladly sort through them and determine which we can use. Anything and everything (within reason) would be amazing.
Yep, this is your turn. Share a story, tell a tale, or enlighten me with your years of experience in weddings and life (which I am realizing I lack lol).
We can't wait to see what your post!
Well... I could fill a whole book with the things I've learned! And amidst all the craziness of you being here, you never got to pick my brain!!
ReplyDeleteMy main tip to you, is decide the WHERE first. Where you have the wedding will affect everything else: date, time, size of the wedding, your budget, themes, and overall what you can do. It's the biggest and most daunting of the tasks.
Secondly, sit down with your wonderful fiance, and talk logically about the whole cash aspect. Set a number. You already have a dress, so that factors into the budget too. There's tons of sites and books that tell you to budget this % of your yearly earnings and this amount goes to this, blah blah... But overall, it has to be comfortable for you. Things WILL cost more than you think they will, but there's a lot of ways to make it work, by doing a lot of it yourself. We saved on invitations, favours, the cake, seating chart, table settings, and florist/decorators by doing it all by hand. It's time consuming, but if you have some crafty people involved you can really find ways to save.
I myself watch a lot of Wedding SOS and Rich Bride Poor Bride to see what ideas people have. Some are really good (I got a great idea for a cake off it) and some are absolutely hideous! I can't think of any websites, but those are my fav. shows! :D
