The Date of the Big Day

Ladies and Gentlemen without further ado Mike and I would like to inform you that we have set a date. Yes indeed we have decided that on September 3, 2011 we would both love to demand (politely, because we love you!)  your attendance at a wonderful day!

All the information regarding location and such will be neatly enclosed in an invitation which Mike and I will be sending out sometime in the new year.

Basically we will hold it all at my most gracious and generous sister’s place, and we are very thankful to her and her family for allowing this.

And so beings the booking extravaganza! Heather, again the marvellous Heather, has booked hair already in the morning. She also informs me that there is a story involving flowers which needs to be told. I wait with bated breath to hear about this probably humorous story.

The only other decisions thus far are that we are renting a tent and the event will be outdoors, and I would love to make my own bouquet (not sure why I just really do want to it.)

While I appreciate the many valid concerns mentioned about our outdoor location, I think that we can make it work and that everything will be ok. This in and of itself is funny since I thought as the bride I would be doing the freaking out, but I find I am often the one reassuring people that it will all be ok and that neither Mike nor I can picture anything other than outdoors. The funny thing is that some of these comments are coming from Friends in Japan.... who have never been to Canada and never experienced the weather. It makes me smile because one of the same people later asked me if we have to shovel snow in the winter.

Anyway hopefully the ball is rolling and we shall soon have many more updates for you enjoy.

Until then I would really appreciate it if everyone who reads this could place send me their current (or future if you are moving soon) address so that I can mail invitations. Even if you are sure I have it please RESEND it, because I could have lost your address and I don’t want to hunt down absolutely everyone for their information. Just email or Facebook Mike or I.
